Vous avez une envie subite de manger de la misère ? Vous y trouverez la recette dans cette fable où la métaphore de l’homme fort et de la noirceur versus l’argent est très bien représentée et dans laquelle l’ombre est à la dimension de l’égo humain !
La tentation par le ventre, la vie confortable que promet l’arrivée du chemin de fer ainsi que le progrès qu’il devrait engendrer font tourner plus d’une tête, mais à la finalité ne procure pas la satisfaction tant espérée. Voici la trame de ce long métrage. Une bulle d’une heure quarante quatre pour apprécier l’univers unique du même duo de créateurs que Babine (autant applaudi par le public que par la critique en 2008) avec ce conte plus grand que nature et ses habitants aussi attachants que colorés.
Certains pourront penser que le traitement, visuel comme verbal, est facile, voire simpliste, mais il existe, dans cette histoire, une belle idéologie soutenue par la force du nombre et le sentiment naturel d’appartenance.
Sous couvert d’une légende, l’acteur/réalisateur aborde des sujets contemporains. Son film, sans en avoir l’air (mais bien la chanson), est à la fois socialement humain et très politisé, tout à son image et à celle de son scénariste. Des jeux de mots bien placés, des acteurs justes et un clin d’œil à son précédent long métrage rendent Esimésac très agréable et réconfortant à voir.
Comme dans toute fiction, vous relèverez quelques anachronismes (drapeau du Québec, protège oreilles pour le froid et autres…) C’est le lot des paraboles. L’essentiel n’est-il pas dans l’intention !?
